Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and several individuals were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
